If you were a tomboy growing up in the '80s, there really was not much room for you to play with neighborhood children when it comes to Transformers, MASK, He-Man, and various other boy-oriented stu Scarlett, Lady Jay, Cover Girl and fought for the good guys while the Baroness and punk rock Zarana were aligned with the boys troublemaking this ruthless terrorist organization known as Cobra. Later, in 1987, an American soldier Joe movie, the characters have created a new female character: red ninja Jinx.

In the upcoming expansion, GI Joe: Retribution (June 29), Jinks again in the form of a beautiful Elodie Yung. Click on another image of her face with Snake Eyes:
ff from that era.

There may have been one or two female characters, but otherwise it was pretty much not allowed girls situation.

The exception was a great American soldier in the Hasbro Joe, who - still largely populated chromosomes XY - was pretty much badass female character for girls to identify with and pretend to be when it's time to save the neighborhood from Megatron, Cobra, and Darth Vader.
