Veteran character
actor Harry Morgan, best known for playing Colonel Sherman T. Potter
on the iconic show CBS "M * A * S * H", died Wednesday. Harry Morgan was 96.
In a press
statement, Mike Farrell - 4077, who played BJ Hunnicutt surgeon - said HarryMorgan "was a wonderful man, a terrific actor and a dear and close
friend from the first day we worked together. As Alan [Alda] said:" He had
no unadorable bone in his body.
"
The rest of his statement
is printed below. He
was a treasure, like a man counts from time to time, and always a true
professional. He worked
with the great and never considered myself one of them. But
he was, "Farrell said." Harry Morgan was a rock all depended
and still he can cut it as a child, when the situation is.
It was the
apotheosis of the best example of what people call a "character
actor." What he brought to the job made all the better. He made those who
think like the "stars" to shine even brighter.
Love
and admiration we all felt for him was returned tenfold many, many ways. And
the biggest and most dedicated tribute, we enjoyed the experience was given to
Harry at the press conference, when the show ended. He
noticed that someone asked him if work on M * A * S * H made him a better actor. He
responded by saying, "I do not know about it, but it made me a better
person." It is
hard to imagine a better one.
