Dhanteras: This Season, This Lightweight Gold, Silver

Bangalore, Oct 24: Although Dhanteras sentiment remains common among Indians, consumers seem to be the quality of their gold and silver purchase that day.

Easy jewellery and silver articles, seems to be the aroma of this festive season, thanks to the increase in the price of gold. And jewellers now innovation in manufacturing technology and jewelry templates for creating lightweight jewellery and increase reserves to meet demand for Dhanteras-day is considered auspicious for buying jewelry and precious metals.

  
Easy bracelets and chains are in demand and we brought down a minimum weight of gold and diamond bracelets from 40 to 37 grams this year and the minimum weight of other small jewelry pieces from 12 to eight grams, Mr. Vinod Hayagriv, Managing Director, c. Krishniah Chetty & sons (CKC) said business line.

CKC also increased collections are small and light pieces from 20 to 40 per cent of the shares in this year, he added.

However, the company does not expect growth in total sales last year during the holiday season at the expense of high gold prices.

"We will support the sales as in the past year, but don't expect sales growth in contrast to last year, when we have grown by 20 per cent over the previous year," said Mr. Hayagriv.

Mr. Rajesh Mehta, Chairman of Shubh jewelers, retailers Rajesh exports Ltd., said, "Quantum sales easy jewellery market trends, which today has gone up to 70%,".

He said that despite the high price of gold, Shubh stores across the country experienced an increase in sales, including several odd demands for heavy jewelry.

Although Bhima Jewelers also increased demand for light jewelry this Dhanteras and consequently increased stock easy pieces at 30 per cent, it has increased the demand for silver articles this year.

"Sales in value terms, the same as last year, but we've seen more people asking for silver and gold and silver coins, compared to jewelry," Mr Sripathi Bhat, Manager of Bhima jewelry m.g. Road branch here said business line.


Mr. Samir Shah, Vice President, "Riddisiddhi bullions Ltd, said that the expectations this year, an increase in demand for bullion. "Since prices on gold jewellery, we expect people to buy bullion, rather than gold, they can save money on making payments," he said.
